After graduating from Valley Forge Christian College, he was a youth pastor for three years before joining CLC's staff in January 2001.

He married his best friend, Lisa, in 2000. They have a daughter, Mara born January 2004, a son, Micah born May 2006, and a dog Sam, born July 2002.
