Summer in the City

2010 Activities

1st Wednesday of the Month Prayer and Worship Service

Join us the 1st Wednesday of each month (June-

August) for an incredible time of prayer and worship with our partnership pastors and their congregations. We’ll have ice cream together afterwards!

June  Prayer

The month of June will be a time of seeking the Lord and preparing the way for all the summer activities planned by each of our respective churches individually and in partnership.

Partner Prayer Service featuring Worship by Amante Lacey and

Champion, Wednesday, June 2, 7 pm, CLC Sanctuary

     Partner Church Prayer Gatherings

     Partner Church Prayer Walks

July and August Repair and Care

The months of July and August will be a time of repair and refreshing of our buildings and properties. God expects us to be good stewards of all He has given us and that includes our places of worship and meeting.

Partner Church building and property repairs (minor only)

Partner Church building clean-up and landscaping

July and August will also be a time of reaching outside of our own church walls to the lost of our city. It will be a time to let our community know we are here and that we love them. This may be by reaching a specific group such as: children, young adults, or senior citizens or doing a wide-stroke approach that would encompass all ages.

     Evangelistic Outreach Activity

September Prayer

We will conclude the summer activities with prayer for the lost in our families, communities, city, state, nation, and the world.

Concert of Prayer, Friday, September 17, 2010, 7 pm

Angel Tree Camping

Summer opportunity that gives prisoner’s kids fun and friendship in a Christian camp. More than hot dogs, activities, and campfires Angel Tree Camping is a chance for a child to hear the life-changing message that Jesus loves them, not only once but every day in a variety of ways.  Their circumstances were not their choice.  Learn how you can make a difference – perhaps for eternity – in a child’s life.

Jesus said, "Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me." Matthew 18:5

Cans for Camp Angel Tree Prison Ministry

When a child watches a parent handcuffed and taken away to prison, it leaves deep scars. Fear, betrayal, grief, anger and deep depression are just a few of the emotions the child experiences day after day. That is why Angel Tree volunteers so passionately stand in the gap. They have seen firsthand the hurt in these kids’ eyes. They know that a simple gift of time to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ can change lives.

That is the kind of impact you can have too. Reaching one child by your generosity can transform that life. Sponsor a child this summer The Angel Tree Ministry will be collecting aluminum cans to help fund this year’s Summer Camp.

Cans should be bagged and dropped off on the RIGHT side of the Maintenance Garage located at the Little York Site. Look for the ‘ANGEL TREE’ sign. Thank you, in advance, for your donations!
